No Bone Marrow Biopsy!!!
I had spoken with my hemotologist a few weeks ago and was told that getting a bone marrow biopsy was my choice. I was still undecided when some other health issues started happening. I scheduled an appointment with my primary care physician here, but my appointment isn't until April 16th. I decided to call my hemotologist just to keep her updated. Her nurse didn't understand why I was calling, and didn't understand the agreement that the doctor and I had made a few weeks ago. She was convinced that I needed to come in for a check up. After trying to argue with her for a few minutes I caved and scheduled the appointment for 2 days later (April 1st).
The drive is over 3 hours! My cousin Bri, her daughter Piper and Alyssa came. The CMA brought me back to take some blood and get my vitals. While taking my weight he had the marker on 150 (what the heck!!??), and was going up, up, up...at about 185lbs he started laughing and said 'April fools!' He had been standing on the back of the scale... NOT NICE!
When the doctor came in she said I shouldn't have made the long trip over, and I tried to explain the issue with the nurse I talked to on the phone, when she said 'you're numbers are normal.' WHAT?! That's right my WBC was 4.6, which is right on the line for normal! Yay for me...good news for once. She said we will continue to do count checks every 4 months. I was also switched from B12 injections monthly to oral B12 pills weekly. I will have my B12 checked and if it is low I will be referred to an internalist to find out why my body can't break down B12 in my GI tract. So overall pretty good!!
I have no idea why after a year and a half my numbers are suddenly normal, the doctor is unsure as well.

Updates...
Well... a very good friend of mine reminded me that I am already falling behind in the blog world, thanks Amy! So here are some updates:
Alyssa:
Her vocabulary is expanding hourly it seems, it is so amazing! She will make a comment, Scott and I will stare at each other, wondering if we really heard her correctly...and then we laugh because we still can't believe it. Some examples:
"Daddy, something in my eye, it annoying me!"
I ask if she wants to go see Aunt Andi and Mason, she responds "mommy Andi cut your hair?" "No, my hair is already short, do you want to get your hair cut?" "No, my hair pretty. You cut your hair, you have big hair."
Alyssa is looking out the window at some little girls playing "mommy me want sister" "What about a baby brother like Mason?" "NO MOMMY, Mason a BOY! I want sister."
Scott:
Basketball season is over, the girls finished 10th in the state. I am so very proud, I think that is the best the girl's have EVER done at UHS. Scott is already planning for summer league basketball, Chris the Boy's coach came over last night so they could "plan" the schedule. Scott is coaching middle school track, which just started this past Monday. He is also volunteering on Tuesday and Thursday's to coach all of the jumping events for high school track. (The girl he coached last year in high jump is the state champion!) He is also playing city league basketball with a bunch of boys he went to school with, he is a sports junkie! :) He is a busy man as usual, but that's how he likes it!
Tamara:
I just finished Winter term in the nursing program, it looks like I finished with A's. We had clinicals on the medical-surgical floor, head start, the pediatric clinic and the operating room. I LOVED all of them! The OR was absolutely amazing though... I was only a few few away (like 5 feet to be exact) from a full abdominal exploratory surgery. I can definitely see myself as an OR nurse... The OB/delivery clinical is next term though, and that has always been my dream...so we will see how I like it. I have 15 months left until I graduate... YEAH!!!!

Bone marrow biopsy...or not...
My white blood cell count has been low for a long time. I have no symptoms of illness so the doctors aren't sure what's going on. I went to a hemotologist in Portland last September, she did several tests and found my B12 level was very low as well. She said that a low B12 level can also lower your white count, so I've been receiving B12 injections monthly. My follow up blood test still showed by white count low, but my B12 level is now normal. The hemotologist called and said my next move is up to me. I can do a bone marrow biopsy to see if we can find out why my count is low, but sometimes the biopsy is inconclusive. Or I can continue to have my white count checked every 3 months and if it goes any lower, or if I get sick or get any kind of infection to call her.
So I'm not sure what I should do....bone marrow biopsy...or not?

Pink Eye!!
Last week Alyssa's eye was a little red and she said it hurt every once in a while. I just thought she might of scratched it and after 2-3 days it was fine. In that time Scott kissed her eye to make it feel better. Fast forward a few days to this past Sunday the 10th. We went to the Tri-Cities to spend the day together while Scott's mom watched Alyssa. Scott said he had a headache, his body hurt all over and he was starting to get congested. He felt so horrible that he called in to work on Monday and Tuesday. He saw a doctor and found out he had the beginnings of bronchitis and had conjunctivitis in one eye... which is pink eye! Neither of us have ever had it before and it's gross!! I have been keeping my distance, praying I don't get it...so far, so good!
Scott is off to play Burns and Grant Union this weekend, since it's so far away they will spend the night. So tonight Alyssa, Roxy and I are going to my mom's house to spend the night. My mom recently got a Wii and tons of games so we are going to have an all-night-wii-athon! lol

$10 Store??!!
Stanfield just opened a store called Enjoy Style, everything is $10! They sell clothing, purses, camo and shoes. They buy items from large retailers, like JCPenny and Cabelas, at reduced prices since they are end of season closeout items. I have been there 5 times in the past week!
Love it!!!!!

New Blog!!
It's pretty obvious, but we are starting our own blog! My friend Amy...oh how I miss you... has had a blog forever, and I always admire and enjoy her posts and pictures. Today I realized I MIGHT be able to do one too, I say might because I am not even a tenth as creative as she is! We will see how long this lasts.
I guess we will begin this journey with an update about each of us.
Scott- Just finished his Master's degree!! Woo Hoo!!! I am so incredibly proud of my hubby, it took a lot of hard work. Scott is teaching at Umatilla High School as a PE and weight lifting teacher, this is his third year. He is also coaching the varsity girls basketball team.
Tam- I am currently a full time student...yup, no job! I am getting my associates degree to become a registered nurse...finally!!! I completed my first term with a 4.0! Winter term just started on Wednesday, oh boy this is going to be a tough term.
Alyssa- My baby girl is growing up so fast! I cannot believe she is 2 1/2 years old. After several failed attempts at potty training I believe she finally gets it! Keep your fingers crossed....
